Met Office Issues Yellow Weather Warning

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for tonight. This could mean the road conditions in the morning could be bad, please prepare for delays, closures and drive safely.

Issued at: 12:53 on Monday 26 November 2012

Valid from: 00:05 on Tuesday 27 November 2012

Valid to: 05:00 on Tuesday 27 November 2012

Rain will persist into the early hours of Tuesday in northeast England and the extreme southeast of Scotland. The rain should steadily become less heavy, and the more persistent rain will subsequently die out, leaving only scattered showers for the rest of Tuesday.

The public should be aware of the continued risk of flooding, since this rain comes on top of that which will have fallen on Monday.
