Met Office Issues Yellow Weather Warning – Ice

Wintry showers, falling mainly as rain at low levels, will lead to the formation of ice The public are advised to be aware of the risk of icy stretches on some untreated roads and pavements.

Colder air coming back south on Sunday sets things up for a cold night, with frost lasting into Monday morning. Showers continuing to come onshore will fall as snow mainly above about 200 m, but locally to sea level too. Whilst roads in many immediate coastal areas will probably remain above 0 C, further inland they are likely to freeze, giving icy stretches.
