Scattered wintry showers will continue overnight across many eastern coastal counties of England, although tending to ease later. With surfaces already below zero, away from the coastline itself, showers will readily freeze to give ice on untreated surfaces. Any heavier showers, these perhaps most likely in North Yorkshire, could locally wash away earlier gritting treatment, and additionally may produce a few centimetres of snow just locally on the North York Moors. Elsewhere any snow limited to a dusting.
The public should be aware of increased risk of icy surfaces and difficult travel conditions.
