Warning for Snow

Further snow is expected over parts of eastern Scotland and northeast England Tuesday night into Wednesday. The snow will gradually turn more patchy during Wednesday. Over lower lying coastal areas accumulations are expected to be small whilst inland accumulations of 1-3 cm are widely expected and above 200 m in excess of 5 cm is possible. Icy stretches are likely on untreated surfaces where skies clear.
The public should be aware of the risk of disruption, particularly to travel.
This warning is updated to include the far northeast of Scotland.

As temperatures fall on Tuesday evening and night, icy stretches will form on many untreated surfaces especially where lying snow freezes. There may also be a few light snow flurries in places though any new accumulations will be slight. Freezing fog patches may also add to travel difficulties.
The public are advised to take extra care.
