Met Office Issues Yellow Weather Warning for Today and Wednesday – Rain

Yellow warning of rain for today (Tuesday):

Valid to: 23:59 on Tuesday 23 July 2013

Further thunderstorms and some longer spells of thundery rain will occur at times during the rest of today, with some torrential downpours in places.

The public should be aware of the risk of localised disruption, particularly to travel, due to, for example, surface water flooding or lightning damage.

This is an update to the warning issued on Monday.

Valid to: 21:00 on Wednesday 24 July 2013

Further thundery downpours are likely across more eastern parts of England and the northeastern half of Scotland at first on Wednesday, although these should clear from the west during the early morning in England, but hang on into the early afternoon across the far northeast of Scotland. There is also a risk of further heavy showers developing over parts of Scotland and northeast England during the afternoon.

The public should be aware of the risk of localised disruption to travel due to surface water flooding.
