Issued at: 19:27 on Saturday 21 November 2015

Valid from: 20:00 on Saturday 21 November 2015

Valid to: 10:00 on Sunday  22 November 2015

Showers, a mixture of rain, sleet and snow, occasionally heavy, are expected Saturday evening and into Sunday morning. Some slight accumulations of snow are expected especially, but not exclusively, over high ground. Icy patches will also become a hazard, forming on untreated surfaces or where treatment is washed off by showers.

Please be aware of potential for difficult traveling conditions and minor disruption.

Chief Forecaster’s Assessment

An area of showers or longer spells of rain, sleet and snow is expected to move SE across Scotland and the NE of England on Saturday evening and through the early hours of Sunday. At low levels this will mainly fall as rain and sleet, with snow more likely above 100 m where accumulations of a further 5 cm are possible. In addition a widespread frost will lead to icy patches forming on untreated surfaces as clear spells develop.

The wintry showers will become lighter and less frequent later on Saturday night and into Sunday morning.
